Author’s Verdict:
While testing Maxxis Razr AT811 on different terrains, I found it expert in nearly all terrains. The performance on sand, mud, and snowy terrains was amazing. But the traction on ice was the challenging part. I also feel it’s a little bit noisy on speed. However, the overall performance is impressive, and this tire is worth your money.

Tread Appearance
Maxxis Razr At811 is built with an aggressive tread pattern. The 4 tread blocks enclosed in z-shaped blocks provide excellent on and off-road traction.
The tread blocks equipped with rectilinear sipes help to decrease the risk of hydroplaning also called aquaplaning. The deep shoulder blocks with biting edges assist in rock climbing with staggered sidewalls.
The 3-ply sidewalls and softer tread compound enhance the ride comfortability, also the bulkier staggered sidewalls provide extreme mud traction and protect from off-road hazards.

Maxxis Razr At811 Drive Test
Maxxis Razr AT 811 is the latest all-terrain tire that delivers impressive traction on different terrains like sand, snow, mud, etc. Let’s discuss its performance in detail on different terrains.
On Road Performance
While testing a tire for on-road performance, you would notice cornering stability, steering response, braking distance, etc.
The Maxxis Razr at811 falls between all-terrain and mud-terrain tires, but still proves itself and delivers good on-road performance.
How’s Dry Road Performance?
The Razr at811 provides great dry road traction with its 4 tread blocks enclosed in z-shaped blocks. Also, the softer tread compound provides excellent road contact.
The steering response was amazing, and I felt no ” walking ” at a slow speed as I felt on previous all-terrain tires.
Cornering Stability
Tire Sidewalls and tread patterns play vital roles in cornering stability, and I feel nothing unstable while cornering.
The maxxis razr at811 has 3-ply sidewalls built with a strong polyester carcass that assists in providing great cornering stability with the help of deep shoulder blocks.
How’s Wet Performance?
The wet performance of Maxxis Razr at811 is not so good, although it provides adequate traction, but I am not satisfied.
The tread pattern has multiple deep sipes, but these are rectilinear sipes, not 3D sipes. My previous truck shoes have 3D sipes that enhance wet traction and they were exceptional in Wet performance.
The Firestone Destination XT delivers extreme wet traction, and performs well in rainy weather with 3D sipes. Click to read the full firestone destination xt review.
Off Road Performance
The off-road performance is where all-terrain tires have to prove themselves, and the Maxxis Razor at811 substantiates itself by delivering amazing off-road traction. So, let’s talk about its performance on rock, gravel, sand, and mud terrains.
How’s Sand Traction?
The sand traction was just acceptable because razr at811 is built with closed tread pattern design, so a tire with extra void blocks delivers great sand traction.
But thanks to its bold rugged sidewall lugs, biting edges, and stone ejectors on shoulders, they collectively provide appropriate sand traction and will not let you down.
How’s Rock and Gravel Performance?
The rock traction of Maxxis razr at811 is outstanding, and it impressed me a lot. The aggressive rugged sidewall lugs and biting edges on shoulders assist in rock climbing, and they cling to provide a strong grip on both wet and dry conditions.
I lower the pressure to 15 psi and razr at811 deliver stunning performance. Testing maxxis razr at811 on gravel was also a good experience, delivers great traction, and does not throw up to many pebbles.
How’s Performance on Muddy Terrains?
Mud performance is where the maxxis razr at811 shines and delivers exceptional mud traction with its thick sidewalls.
The wider open channels assist in self-cleaning and the upper sidewall bitters evacuate mud easily and ensure that the tire tread doesn’t accumulate mud to offer amazing mud traction.
The bold sidewalls are connected with each other to assist in mud evacuation, and stone ejectors on staggered shoulders offer mud scoops also will not let you down even in deep mud.
Winter and Snow Performance
The Maxxis Razr at811 is a three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) rated tire and provides great traction on snowy terrains. The bulkier sidewall ribs, with the help of biters, offer extreme snow traction.
The stone ejectors on the upper sidewall and deep shoulder blocks evacuate snow efficiently with its 15/32” tread depth, providing amazing snow performance even in deep snow.
After experiencing two snow storms, I must say that I’m impressed! The road had at least 5 inches of snow, but I am confident in saying that Razr AT 811 truly excels in snow weather. Moreover, there were no sliding issues, even on backcountry highways through the mountains.
However, the ice traction was not so good, although it was acceptable but if you drive regularly on ice-packed roads then you should choose studded tires like Firestone Winterforce LT.
Ride Comfort
Most all-terrain tires aren’t comfortable due to strong sidewall construction, although the maxxis razr at811 is also equipped with 3-ply sidewalls, but its soft rubber compound absorbs jerks.
Also, the sidewalls are built with innovative dual-cord casing that provides more comfort and durability. Based on what I found, the most comfortable all-terrain tires are Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 and Michelin Defender LTX.
Road Noise
The tire with more tread voids will be noisier than a tire with fewer voids. The z-shaped closed tread pattern of maxxis razr at811 helps in noise cancellation, but you may still feel these tires more noisy than the standard all-terrain tires.
As it also performs like a mud terrain tire, so it’s less noisy compared to mud terrain tires. In my observation, the Firestone destination xt is most quieter all-terrain tire.
Durability
The maxxis razr at811 is built with 3-ply sidewalls featured with innovative dual-cord casing that not only provides exceptional durability but also ensures a smooth and comfortable ride.
The bulkier and more aggressive sidewalls provide enough confidence to drive on rough terrains.
What’s The Maxxis Razr At811 Mileage Warranty?
Maxxis offers a limited treadwear warranty for Maxxis Razr at811, including 50,000 miles for light truck (LT) sizes and 60,000 miles for P-metric (passenger vehicle) tire sizes.
Treadwear
Sadly the tread life of maxxis razr at811 is not so long in comparison with other all-terrain tires. The softer tread compound of razr at811 wears fast, although it has a 50000 tread life warranty.
You would have to take extra care of these tires to get maximum treadwear life, like rotating tires after each 5k to 6k miles, scheduled wheel alignment, etc.
Maxxis Razr At811 Price
When you experience the performance of maxxis razr at811, you’ll realize the tire price is reasonable and worth the money.
The razr at811 comes in different tire sizes from 15” to 24”, so the price can be different as per your required tire size. You can check the latest price of maxxis razr at811 on Simple Tire.

Final Thoughts
The performance of maxxis razr at811 on different terrains has been discussed in detail, and I’ve thoroughly shared my personal experience with razr at811.
Its performance on muddy trails was exceptional and also delivers great traction on rock climbing. On-road performance was also good as well as snow traction, but the ice traction was challenging.
Also, the treadwear life is short. Overall it was a good experience to drive with razr at811 and I will definitely buy it again.
